Harris County deputies are investigating the murder of 39-year-old Dat Truong, who was found lying unresponsive outside his home on Bridgestone Pine Court on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at approximately 3:25 PM. Deputies from the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office responded to an “in-progress” call reporting a robbery in progress.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered Truong suffering from unknown injuries. He was transported by ambulance to Memorial Hermann (Woodlands) Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
Harris County Sheriff’s Office homicide detectives and Crime Scene Investigators arrived at the scene to conduct an investigation. Interviews with witnesses and evidence collection led investigators to identify two male suspects in a white sedan.
Detectives located and interviewed 17-year-old Jose Soto, who admitted his involvement in the crime. He has since been charged with murder. Authorities are still searching for a second suspect connected to the incident.
