Joseph Anthony Abreu, 35, has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault of a family member and burglary with intent to commit another felony following a stabbing incident on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 7328 Farnsworth Street.
At approximately 3:15 p.m., officers responded to a stabbing call and discovered that Abreu had attacked his 58-year-old mother. After breaking into the residence by kicking the front door, Abreu demanded his mother’s wallet. When she was unable to provide it, he pushed her and then stabbed her.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital and is in stable condition. Abreu fled the scene before law enforcement arrived, but was located the following day, January 5, and taken into custody.
Abreu is currently facing charges in the 486th State District Court, with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office having been contacted for further proceedings.
