A mother from Tennessee has allegedly admitted to strangling her 12-year-old son, Esteban Sylvester, and attempting to do the same to her 4-year-old son, according to police. She has been arrested and prosecuted.
According to Police Report
Around 10 p.m., Esteban’s father discovered the child unconscious at their Barksdale Lane home, according to Shelbyville Police last Monday. The boy’s mother, Patricia Sylvester, 32 years old, and his brother, Rafael Sylvester, 4, were not present at the time. According to the Shelbyville Times-Gazette, Esteban was the subject of resuscitation attempts by Shelbyville Fire Rescue and Bedford County EMS, but the little youngster was later declared dead at Vanderbilt Bedford Hospital.
Rafael received an Endangered Child Alert on Tuesday morning from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, who turned their attention to Patricia and her youngest son, according to NBC15. Soon after that notice was sent out, Patricia was taken to SPD headquarters to be questioned.
