NHC: Too Early to Determine the Impact of Hurricane Lee

Due to the fact that Lee is “expected to slow down considerably over the southwestern Atlantic,” as said in the statement published by the hurricane center, it is too early to determine the full impact that Lee may have close to the East Coast of the United States.

This week, “dangerous surf and life-threatening rip currents” are expected to affect parts of the northern Leeward Islands, the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Hispaniola, the Turks and Caicos Islands, the Bahamas, and Bermuda, among other places. As of the beginning of the workweek on Monday, there are no coastal watches or warnings that are currently in effect.
