SOURCE– Ukraine’s new missiles will give the capacity to strike deep into Russian territory. The US administration was concerned that successful attacks by Ukraine on Russia justified Putin to expand his war to the West or even use its nuclear weapons. Putin might try something desperate if he feels that his grip on power is loosening beyond his control.

The retired US Army Brigadier Gen. Kevin Ryan said that Washington was alarmed by Ukraine’s new strike capability. Deploying the Neptune in attacks against Russia’s infrastructure will increase the war, and push Putin and his military leadership to level up their attacks against Ukrainian cities. It will possibly lead Putin to use nuclear weapons.

It comes after Ukraine destroyed a state-of-the-art Russian air defense system nestled in the occupied Crimean peninsula last month. Ukraine scored a direct hit on the S-400 ‘Triumf’ and blasted it sky-high in an impressive strike. The weapon behind the destruction is a modified version of a Neptune cruise missile. These Ukraine’s new missiles can destroy targets more than 200 miles inside Russian territory with near pin-point accuracy. The modified Neptune missiles unlock a new capability for Ukraine’s armed forces.
