Bay Area News Group boys athlete of the week: Andrew Tafoya, Mt. Pleasant football



Mt. Pleasant football player Andrew Tafoya is the Bay Area News Group’s boys high school athlete of the week for Oct. 28-Nov. 2.

In online voting that ended at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Tafoya finished with 44.23% of the vote. Christopher football player Terrence Barnes took second at 36.55% and Bishop O’Dowd football player Devin Wilson placed third.

Congratulations to all the candidates for this week’s recognition.

Tafoya, a junior had a 70-yard touchdown reception and a 35-yard pick-six to lead Mt. Pleasant to a 36-0 win over Evergreen Valley. Mt. Pleasant is 4-5, 4-1 and finishes the regular season on Friday at Hill.
