Santa Clara cross country runner Dominic McMahon is the boys athlete of the week for Sept. 30-Oct. 5.
In online voting that ended at 5 p.m. Wednesday, McMahon finished with 34.88% of the votes. Newark Memorial cross country runner Michael Tellez was second at 30.67%.
Congratulations to all the candidates for this week’s recognition.
McMahon, a senior, took first place in the large school division at the Artichoke Invitational, finishing the 2.3-mile race in 12:07.
