According to the report of Marca, Montana homeowners might soon get up to $675 in financial help through a new stimulus check program. This program started on August 15, 2024, and aims to give money back for property taxes paid in 2023. To qualify, homeowners must have lived in their main Montana home for at least seven months during the year and must have paid their property taxes in full. Properties owned by companies or trusts are not eligible.

If you qualify, you’ll get money based on how much property tax you paid in 2023, but no more than $675. For example, if your tax bill was $425, you’ll get $425 back. If your tax bill was more than $675 and you’ll still get a maximum of $675. You also need to provide a valid Social Security Number and the geocode of your property which shows where it is in Montana. Make sure to apply by October 1, 2024 because that’s the deadline.
