September SSI Payments – Up to $943 for Americans with Disabilities, Increased by 3.2% Due to Inflation

According to the Washington Examiner, in just 10 days, many Americans with disabilities will get their September Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments. These payments, which can be up to $943, will be sent out on September 1. The Social Security Administration says these payments are for people who are partially blind or have serious health conditions that make it hard for them to do daily tasks for at least 12 months or that could lead to death.

The maximum payment is $943 for individuals, $1,415 for couples who apply together, and $472 for people who care for someone on Supplemental Security Income. These payments have gone up by 3.2% since last year because of inflation. It’s important to know that Supplemental Security Income differs from regular Social Security benefits, and getting one doesn’t mean you automatically get the other.
