Americans affected by a Carvin Software data breach can claim up to $8,500 from an $825,000 settlement, with a deadline to file by August 30, 2024.

Eligible Americans Can Claim Up to $8,500 from Carvin Software Data Breach Settlement.

According to The US Sun, Americans affected by a data breach at Carvin Software between February and March 2023 may receive up to $8,500 from an $825,000 settlement. The breach exposed sensitive information such as Social Security numbers and bank account details. Although Carvin Software did not admit to any wrongdoing, they agreed to the settlement to resolve a lawsuit that claimed they failed to adequately protect customer data.

To get the money, people must prove they lost money due to the breach, such as through bank fees, fake charges, or identity theft. They need to show proof like receipts, bills, or credit reports. Carvin Software is also offering two years of free identity theft and credit monitoring services. People can also get paid for lost time, up to $80, at $20 per hour for a maximum of four hours.
