Vermont’s New Initiative to Help Low-Income Car Owners
Fixing Cars, Improving Air Quality and Public Health
According to mychamplainvalley, Vermont’s Department of Environmental Conservation has a new program to help people who don’t have much money fix their car’s problems. The program is called the Automotive Emissions Repair Assistance Pilot Program. It has two locations in Shelburne and Bennington where people can take their cars to get fixed.
The program helps people who can’t afford to fix their car’s problems. This is important because if a car doesn’t run well, it can be bad for the air and for people’s health. The program gives people money to fix their car’s problems, up to $2,500.

Americans can check if they are eligible for the program or apply for help by visiting a special website. They can also ask for help by emailing or calling the program. There are other resources available on the Vermont government’s website and on a website called Reach Up. This program is helping people keep their cars running safely and efficiently, and also improving air quality and public health in Vermont.
