According to The State Journal-Register, Cash App users in Illinois can get up to $2,500 because of a lawsuit settlement after a big security breach. This breach happened in December 2021 and exposed the personal information of 8.2 million users. A former employee took user data without permission, leading to some users experiencing unauthorized transactions on their accounts.
To get the money, users must have had a Cash App account between August 23, 2018, and August 20, 2024. They can file claims for money lost, time spent dealing with the problem, or transactions that were not paid back. Eligible users can file their claims online and might get up to $2,500 based on what they lost.
