Project 8092: $500 Monthly Payments for Low-Income Families in Evanston, Illinois

According to The US Sun, a new program called Project 8092 is giving families in Evanston, Illinois, $500 a month for a year with no rules on how to spend it. This program is different from most others because it lets families use the money for anything they need. In its second round, Project 8092 will help 150 households with children who live in a specific area known for having financial struggles.

To qualify, families must live in this small part of Evanston and have children in third grade or younger. Their income must also be at or below 184% of the Federal poverty line, which means they earn between $37,814 for two people and $97,532 for eight people. The goal of this program is to help fight child poverty by giving direct financial support to families who need it.
