Ohio SNAP Program Offers Relief for Storm-Affected Food Loss

Counties Eligible for Extended SNAP Benefits

According to WKBN, Ohio has a special program to help people who don’t have enough food. This program is called SNAP, or Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. Because of some bad storms that caused power outages, Ohio has given people more time to ask for help. This means that people who lost food because of the power outages can get some money back.

The extra time is for people who live in certain counties. These counties are Trumbull, Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Portage, and Summit. People who live in these counties can ask for help until September 5. They need to fill out a form and send it to their local office. The office will check if the power was really out for four hours or more.
