20-year-old student Nicholas Anthony Donofrio from the University of South Carolina was shot dead on Saturday morning after attempting to enter the wrong home.
Who Is Nicholas Anthony Donofrio?
SOURCE– Columbia Police Department (CDP) said that a college student, Nicholas Anthony Donofrio, was fatally shot early Saturday morning, after attempting to enter the wrong house. The CPD officers responded to a report of a home burglary around 2 a.m. at the 500 block of South Holly Street in Columbia, South Carolina. When the CPD officers arrived on the scene they found Nicholas Anthony Donofrio with a gunshot wound in his upper body.
Before the shot incident happened Nicholas Anthony Donofrio tried to enter the wrong house on South Holly Street. The 500 block of South Holy Street is approximately two miles from the University of South Carolina, where Nicholas Anthony Donofrio was studying. Nicholas Anthony Donofrio studied kinesiology and exercise science also he worked as a full-time assistant grounds maintenance for seven school buildings in the district.
The CPD officers will continue the investigation to consult with the 5th Circuit Solicitor’s Office about the circumstances of the case. Also, University officials said, that the Student Affairs team will provide resources and support to those who may be affected by the tragedy.
