The IRS has extended the tax deadline for Minnesotans hit by severe storms and flooding. You now have until February 3, 2025, to file and pay taxes due from June 16, 2024, to February 3, 2025. For details on affected areas, visit the IRS website.

The extra time covers various tax responsibilities, like estimated income tax payments and payroll tax returns. Penalties for missed payroll tax deposits due from June 16 to July 1, 2024, will be forgiven if deposits are made by July 1, 2024. If your address doesn’t reflect the disaster area but you were affected, contact the International Revenue Service for help.
