Malik Halfacre Sentenced to 145 Years for Quadruple Murder Over Stimulus Check
Halfacre Captured After Standoff; Baby Found Safe Following Deadly Shooting
According to True Crime News, in Indianapolis Malik Halfacre has been sentenced to 145 years in prison for killing four people including a young girl during a fight over a stimulus check. The 28-year-old man admitted to two murders and one attempted murder. The judge handed down 57 years for each murder charge and 31 years for attempted murder with all sentences to be served one after the other. This violent incident happened on March 13, 2021 when Halfacre got into a deadly argument with his child’s mother about the check. He ended up killing 23-year-old Daquan Moore 44-year-old Tomeeka Brown 35-year-old Anthony Johnson and 7-year-old Eve Moore.
The shooting took place at a house on Randolph Street where police found a woman who had been shot. After checking further they found the four deceased victims at a nearby home. The only survivor was Jeanettrius Moore who is Halfacre’s child’s mother. Following the attack Halfacre took his and Jeanettrius’s 6-month-old daughter and stole money. The baby was found safe the next day. Halfacre was later captured after a standoff with SWAT officers who found him hiding in an attic.

Prosecutor Hails Victims’ Resilience as Community Seeks Closure After Halfacre Sentencing
Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears praised the victim’s family and the survivor for their strength and patience during the trial. Mears said that Halfacre’s life sentence provides a sense of closure and helps the community move on from this tragic event. The sentencing brings to an end a painful chapter as the community begins to heal from the impact of Halfacre’s actions.
