Child Abuse in Oklahoma: Parents Arrested for Allegedly Tying Teen to Tree
According to True Crime News, a couple in Vera, Oklahoma, was arrested for allegedly tying a 15-year-old girl to a tree for three days. Johnny James, 40, and his 42-year-old girlfriend, Kayla Clark, were taken into custody on July 28. Deputies found the girl tied to a tree, sleeping on a piece of carpet. The girl said she had been tied to the tree multiple times over three days. James admitted to allegedly tying his daughter with ratchet straps, saying he did it to stop her from urinating or defecating in the house because of her developmental issues.

Oklahoma Father and Girlfriend Arrested for Severe Child Abuse and Neglect
James is charged with abuse, neglect, or sexual abuse of a child, while Clark is charged with enabling child neglect. The girl was visiting James from Texas, and the other children in the home were placed in the custody of Child Welfare Services. Some of the girl’s relatives said they were scared of James and didn’t report the abuse earlier. This allegedly tying case shows a serious example of child abuse and how fear can stop people from asking for help.
