A recent report from Kick97.9, has highlighted some of the most perilous neighborhoods in the U.S., with two areas in Missouri making the list. The analysis reviewed crime statistics from various cities, including Los Angeles, Little Rock, San Francisco, Detroit, Houston, New Orleans, Memphis, and Albuquerque.
Peabody-Darst-Webbe in St. Louis
In St. Louis, the Peabody-Darst-Webbe neighborhood has become notably hazardous. With a population of 2,378, this area records an alarming total crime rate exceeding 12,000 incidents per 100,000 people. The violent crime rate is 3,500 per 100,000, and property crimes occur at a rate of 9,000 per 100,000. Residents here face a disturbing 1 in 8 chance of becoming a crime victim making it one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in Missouri despite a recent decrease in overall city crime.
South Blue Valley in Kansas City
Kansas City’s South Blue Valley, located between Interstate 70 and the Blue River, also ranks high for danger. This neighborhood, with a population of 1,403, has a total crime rate of 9,900 per 100,000 people. Violent crimes are reported at 2,400 per 100,000, while property crimes occur at 7,500 per 100,000. The crime rates here are 327% above the national average posing significant risks to its residents.

Olivette
Olivette ranks 30th, with an average home value of $437,392. This represents a 6.0% increase over the past year and a 36.5% rise over the last five years making it a desirable suburb in the St. Louis metro area.
Rocheport
Rocheport, part of the Columbia metro area, holds the 29th spot with an average home value of $438,534. Home prices here have surged by 52.5% over the past five years marking it as one of the fastest-growing real estate markets.
Foristell
Foristell, located in the St. Louis metro area, ranks 28th with a typical home value of $460,219. Although the price has only increased by 0.6% in the past year and it has grown by 34.0% over the last five years.
Saint Paul
Saint Paul, also in the St. Louis metro area, is 27th on the list with homes valued at $475,873. Prices have increased by 2.5% over the past year and by 40.6% over the past five years indicating strong market growth.
Grantwood Village
Grantwood Village, another St. Louis metro area suburb, holds the 26th position with an average home value of $487,588. The area has seen a 4.5% increase in home prices over the past year and a 35.3% rise over the past five years.
