Louisiana Taxpayers Must Claim $15 Million in State Refunds by September 6 Deadline
According to KSLA 12 News, Louisiana taxpayers have a deadline of September 6, 2024, to claim their state tax refunds before the money is handed over to the Unclaimed Property Division of the state treasurer’s office. The Louisiana Department of Revenue has sent out letters to 18,801 taxpayers, urging them to take action and claim their refunds. Altogether, there’s $15,057,684 in unclaimed refunds that could be transferred if not claimed in time.
To claim a refund, Louisiana taxpayers can visit www.revenue.louisiana.gov/UnclaimedRefund and fill in the required details, or simply complete and return the voucher included with the Notice of Unclaimed Property letter dated July 26, 2024. The Department of Revenue will send out paper checks to everyone who files their claim by the September 6 deadline.
