Project 2025 Threatens to End Head Start, Impacting Low-Income Families and Early Education

According to the report of Austin American-Statesman, Vice President Kamala Harris has warned that Project 2025, a conservative plan, might end the Head Start program. Head Start, started in 1965, helps low-income families with early education and other services. Despite many people supporting it, Project 2025 aims to cut Head Start, saying it has problems and doesn’t work well.

Ending Head Start could hurt low-income families, especially children of color who benefit from it. Experts like Greg J. Duncan from UC Irvine say cutting Head Start would reduce free childcare options and make other pre-K programs more crowded and expensive. While some question how much Head Start helps in the long run, it does improve early learning and parent involvement.
