According to True Crime News, in a tragic and shocking incident near the Snake and Boise rivers in Canyon County, Idaho Melissa Calumpit 35 and her mother Rosalie Morris 59 have been arrested following the fatal shooting of Melissa’s estranged husband Travis Haywood Calumpit 37. The incident unfolded on July 12 when authorities responded to a report of an unconscious male at a campground. Upon arrival deputies found Travis Calumpit deceased prompting an immediate homicide investigation by the Canyon County Sheriff’s Office.
According to court documents and Melissa Calumpit’s affidavit Travis had planned to meet Melissa at the campground with hopes of reconciling their relationship and spending time together camping. However the encounter turned tragic as Melissa and her mother Morris are accused of plotting and executing a premeditated murder. Details from the affidavit describe Melissa shooting Travis in a secluded area of the campground and then fleeing the scene after expressing remorse leaving Travis fatally injured.
