Austin Apartment Complex Sees Spate of Violence
This recent killing happened just days after another one at the same complex. On July 18, 39-year-old Jose Negra was found shot and killed inside one of the apartments. Police don’t think the two crimes are linked but they are still looking into it. Residents like Kelly Anderson are now worried about their safety. Anderson is concerned about getting caught in the violence and may talk to the complex about breaking her lease if another incident happens.
Cynthia McMillion president of Emerge Living which manages the Array Apartments said they are working closely with the police to keep residents safe. She called the recent incidents isolated, with one being a domestic dispute and the other involving non-residents. McMillion offered condolences to the families affected and promised continued cooperation with the police. Residents are encouraged to share any information on the killings with the Austin Police Homicide Tip Line or Crime Stoppers.
