$750-$1,100 in Tax Relief: St. Louis County Simplifies Senior Tax Credit Application Process

St. Louis County has updated its Senior Tax Credit program to make it easier for seniors and disabled people to qualify by lowering the age requirement and removing property value limits, with new funding to speed up the application process.

St. Louis County Makes Senior Tax Credit Easier to Access

According to the report of On Your Side, St. Louis County has made it easier for seniors and disabled people to get Missouri’s Senior Tax Credit. The new rules lower the age requirement from 67 to 62 and remove limits on property value. Now, renters can get up to $750 and homeowners can get up to $1,100 to help with their rent or property taxes.

To help with this, the county is spending $300,000 on new software and staff. This will speed up the process so more seniors can get their tax credits without delays. Councilman Mark Harder said these changes will make it easier for people to apply and get the help they need.
