According to the report of Just The News, Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker has signed 68 new laws that will impact various areas. One important law, House Bill 5457, will stop professional licenses from being denied or punished just because of someone’s immigration status or violations. This law will start on January 1, 2025, and will also make testing for professional licenses more flexible.
Another new law, House Bill 5370, will require drivers to slow down when passing emergency scenes. This change will also take effect on January 1, 2025. Additionally, House Bill 5465 will allow child victims of human trafficking to clear or seal their juvenile records of crimes they were forced to commit.

Illinois Updates Tax Breaks and Mobile Home Safety with New Legislation
The new law will start immediately, House Bill 5412 updates Illinois’ REV and MICRO Acts, saying that failing to report certain data can make someone ineligible for tax breaks. Beginning January 1, 2025, House Bill 5238 will require new mobile homes to have weather radios and ensure regular safety checks in mobile home parks.
