To qualify homeowners must have an active Con Edison gas or electricity account. The program encourages participants to select from a variety of energy-saving upgrades such as installing insulation and sealing ducts, which are recommended after an initial assessment by a Con Edison contractor.
Getting started with this initiative is straightforward for interested homeowners. They can initiate the process by contacting a Con Edison-approved contractor or by registering their own contractor through the program’s dedicated portal. Once engaged the contractor will perform a comprehensive evaluation of the home’s energy efficiency requirements and propose customized upgrades aimed at maximizing savings. Importantly the incentive amount is directly deducted from the final invoice eliminating the typical wait associated with rebate programs and ensuring immediate financial benefit for participants.
