GoTriangle Introduces TAP GoPass for SNAP/EBT and Medicaid Users, Continuing Free Rides Until August
According to the report of CBS 17, GoTriangle has launched the Transit Assistance Pass (TAP GoPass) to help bus riders who receive SNAP/EBT or Medicaid benefits, following the end of free bus fares during COVID-19. This program aims to make public transport more accessible for adults aged 19 to 64 who qualify. Discounts are still available for kids under 18, people with disabilities, and seniors over 65.
Enrollment for the TAP GoPass started recently, and until August 1, riders can still travel for free while GoTriangle prepares to start charging fares again. To help with this change, they’ve introduced the Umo mobile app, which has been popular with around 9,000 downloads just this month, according to a GoTriangle spokesperson.
