According to Amsterdam News, as the 10th anniversary of Mike Brown’s tragic death approaches on August 9, the repercussions of his killing are still deeply felt in the ongoing quest for justice and reform. Brown an 18-year-old African American was fatally shot by white police officer Darren Wilson in Ferguson, Missouri igniting widespread protests and becoming a catalyst for the Black Lives Matter movement. This lack of legal action has left Brown’s mother Lezley McSpadden, grappling with unresolved grief and frustration over what she perceives as a failure of justice.
