SNAP Benefits Provide Critical Support Amid Financial Strain in 38 States and Territories

According to the Washington Examiner, millions of people in 38 states and territories will get their SNAP benefits this week. These benefits are crucial for families who are struggling financially. They come on Electronic Benefit Transfer cards, which work like debit cards. Each household can get up to $1,751. For individuals, the average monthly amount is about $291. This money helps families buy healthy food when money is tight.

Families with kids who would normally get free or reduced-price lunches at school will also get extra money called SUN Bucks. This helps make sure kids have enough to eat during the summer break when school meals aren’t available. These extra funds are meant to support children and make sure they have food even when school isn’t in session.
