Joseph Eaton Sentenced to Life for Killing Parents and Friends in Maine
Maine Man’s Shooting Spree on I-295 Leads to Multiple Injuries and Life Sentence
According to the True Crime News, Joseph Eaton was sentenced to life in prison for killing his parents, Cynthia and David Eaton, and their friends, Bob and Patti Eger. On April 18, 2023, Joseph Eaton shot them at their home in Bowdoin, Maine. He then went on a shooting spree on I-295, injuring several people. Police found the bodies covered with blankets and bullet holes all over the house. Joseph Eaton, who had a criminal past, was arrested by Maine State Police after being seen with blood on his hands on the highway.

Victims’ Families Share Heartache as Joseph Eaton Apologizes at Sentencing
At the sentencing, victims and their families shared their pain and sadness. One survivor spoke about dealing with PTSD, anxiety, and depression because of the shooting. A relative of the Egers expressed anger, saying Joseph Eaton killed the only people who cared for him. Joseph Eaton apologized for his actions, admitting he deserved a life sentence, if not worse.
