Homicide Investigation Launched After Martonio Wilder’s Death
According to the True Crime News, a heartbreaking situation unfolded in Columbus, Ohio, where 8-year-old Martonio Wilder was found dead in an attic, leading to a homicide investigation. On June 28, police responded to a report of a missing child and spoke with Martonio Wilder’s mother, Lashanda Wilder, who said he had last been seen the night before. Detectives suspected foul play and discovered Martonio Wilder’s body later that day in their home. His death was determined to be a homicide caused by “deep neck compressions,” with his body wrapped in a garbage bag inside a sleeping bag cover.

Mother and Girlfriend Charged in Martonio Wilder‘s Death in Columbus Tragedy
Following the discovery of Martonio Wilder, Lashanda Wilder and her girlfriend, Johnna Lowe, initially fled but surrendered to authorities the next day. Lowe is charged with obstructing justice, while Wilder faces charges of murder and obstructing justice. The community is devastated by the loss, particularly given prior involvement of child welfare authorities with the family.
