A 28-year-old man, Christian Moniz Rabino, has been accused of murdering his girlfriend’s 1-year-old son, Kai Tesoro. Rabino allegedly told police he called 911 because Kai was having trouble breathing and stopped breathing. However, an investigation revealed that Kai had suffered severe injuries including bruises on his head and a fracture in his right leg, according to the report of People.
The police report alleges that Rabino grew frustrated with Kai’s crying and shook him when he couldn’t walk by himself. He also forced Kai to walk by plating him feet-first on the ground causing the fractures in both legs. A doctor who treated Kai described the abuse as one of the worst cases they had ever seen.

1-Year-Old Boy Dies After Alleged Abuse, Suspect Held Without Bond
Rabino is being held without bond and charged with first-degree murder and child neglect and abuse. He has not yet entered a plea or retained an attorney. The family of Kai’s father has launched a GoFundMe fundraiser to help pay for the child’s funeral services and care for his 3-year-old sister.
Rabino is set for a preliminary court hearing on August 7th. The community is left reeling from this senseless act of violence against an innocent child, and many are calling for justice for Kai and his family.
