Joseph Eaton Admits Guilt in Sagadahoc County Murders and Freeway Shooting
Life Sentence for Joseph Eaton Following Guilty Plea in Quadruple Murder Case
According to the True Crime News, this week, 35-year-old Joseph Eaton changed his plea and admitted to killing his parents, Cynthia and David Eaton, and their close friends, Bob and Patti Eger, at their home in Sagadahoc County. He also admitted to killing his parents’ dog and shooting at cars on the freeway, injuring several people. On July 1, Eaton pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including four counts of murder, animal cruelty, and theft. A judge sentenced him to life in prison.

Maine Tragedy – Joseph Eaton’s Murder Spree and Highway Shooting Shock Community
The tragic events happened on April 18, 2023, when the Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Department got a call about a dead man at a home on Augusta Road in Bowdoin. A deputy arrived and found four victims covered with blankets and bullet holes everywhere. Eaton left a note saying he was upset and wanted a new life. Later, Eaton was caught by Maine State Police after shooting at cars on I-295. At his sentencing, Eaton said he deserved life in prison and apologized for his actions.
