Arizona Families Tax Rebate: Strengthening Families, Boosting Prosperity
Streamlined Access through Family Rebate Portal
Governor Hobbs’ 2023 budget introduces the Arizona Families Tax Rebate to support families in Arizona. To qualify, individuals must have filed a full-year resident income tax return for 2021 and claimed at least one dependent tax credit. Eligibility extends to those who had at least $1 in Arizona income tax liability in 2019, 2020, or 2021, whether filing individually or jointly.
The rebate provides $250 per dependent under 17 and $100 per dependent aged 17 or older based on the 2021 tax return. Single, head of household, and married filing separately taxpayers can get up to $750, while joint filers can receive up to $1,500. Each household can claim rebates for a maximum of three dependents.
To access the rebate, use the official portal familyrebate.aztaxes.gov managed by the Arizona Department of Revenue. This platform supports eligibility checks, rebate status tracking, claims filing, and address updates with regular updates to keep recipients informed.
The rebate is exempt from Arizona income tax but must be included in the federal adjusted gross income for 2023 federal tax returns. Recipients will receive Form 1099-MISC from the Arizona Department of Revenue for tax reporting purposes, according to Marca report.
