Investigators Probe Personal Dispute as Motive; Second Shooting Raises Community Concerns

According to FOX9, Cincinnati police are urgently asking Madisonville residents to help identify suspects in a recent shooting at Bramble Park. The shooting happened on Saturday during the first Madisonville Day celebration injuring five people with one in critical condition. Over 300 people were at the park when the gunfire broke out causing panic and chaos. At a community council meeting on Thursday officers shared their frustration about the lack of progress because no tips have come in from the public. Detective Charles Zopfi emphasized the need for community help saying Unfortunately I have received zero tips through CrimeStoppers.

The investigation was spearheaded by Sgt. Will Kinney points to the shooting being a result of a personal dispute between two individuals though multiple people are believed to have fired shots. Sgt. Kinney explained that while the exact number of shooters is still unknown the evidence suggests that the incident was targeted with the involved parties likely being familiar with each other. Detectives are currently analyzing shell casings and other forensic evidence to piece together the events and determine each person’s role in the altercation. Adding to the community’s concern another round of gunfire occurred hours later at the Madisonville Recreation Center. However, police have not yet established a connection between the two incidents, leaving residents anxious and on edge as they await further developments in the case.
