According to the article of KRQE News, in a recent joint effort by the New Mexico Human Services Department (HSD) and the Aging and Long-Term Services Department (ALTSD), 11,834 New Mexicans will get an extra $135 in SNAP benefits. This boost is for older adults and those with disabilities in SNAP, offering more food help in June to fight hunger in the state.

Funded by the state general fund, this one-time benefit will automatically go to those who got the SNAP State Supplement in February. It shows the government’s dedication to tackling hunger, especially among vulnerable groups. Recipients don’t need to do anything to get the extra help, making it easy for those in need.
