Community Stunned as Gunman Injures Nine at Family Splash Pad
Suspect’s Paranoia and Mental Health Issues Probed After Deadly Attack
According to True Crime News, tragedy struck a splash pad in Rochester Hills, Michigan when a man named Michael Nash 42 began shooting at families enjoying a summer day. He injured at least nine people including an 8-year-old boy who was shot in the head but is now showing signs of recovery. The victims who range from a 4-year-old child to a 76-year-old include a family of three still in the hospital. Nash later died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at his home according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.
Police found 11 guns at Nash’s home and are looking through his electronic devices to understand why he committed the attack. His family said Nash often thought the government was spying on him and acted strangely but he did not have a criminal record. Sheriff Michael Bouchard suggested Nash’s mental health problems might have led to the shooting though the exact reason is still unclear.
