The Social Security Administration gives monthly disability payments to over nine million Americans based on their birth dates, with payments made on the second, third, or fourth Wednesdays of each month; June’s payments are adjusted for Juneteenth, and those with delayed payments should contact their bank or Social Security office.

Social Security Disability Payments Schedule: June Adjustments for Juneteenth

According to the article by Marca, every month, the Social Security Administration (SSA) sends out payments to over nine million Americans who rely on Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI). These payments are split up and sent on different Wednesdays of the month, depending on when each person was born. If you were born between the 1st and 10th of the month, you’ll get your payment on the second Wednesday. If you were born between the 11th and 20th, it comes on the third Wednesday. For those born from the 21st to the 31st, payments arrive on the fourth Wednesday.

In June, payments will begin on Wednesday, June 12th, for individuals born between the 1st and 10th of the month. Due to Juneteenth on Wednesday, the 19th, the next payments for those born between the 11th and 20th will be made a day early, on Tuesday, June 18th. The final round of payments for June will be on Wednesday, June 26th. For those receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or who have been on SSDI since before May 1997, payments are scheduled on fixed days: the 1st for SSI and the 3rd for older SSDI beneficiaries.

What to Do If Your Social Security Disability Payment Is Delayed

Furthermore, if you don’t get your payment on time, the SSA suggests waiting three days after the scheduled date and then checking with your bank to make sure everything is okay on their end. If your bank doesn’t find any issues, or if you receive a paper check instead of a direct deposit, it’s important to contact your local Social Security office. You can call them or visit them in person to get help sorting out any problems with your payment. This helps ensure you receive the financial support you rely on without delay.
