Woman Arrested in Hamilton County Facing Murder Charge

A woman has been arrested in Hamilton County in connection with a fatal shooting in Lexington. Shawnika Gill, 48 was apprehended by multiple law enforcement agencies and is now held at the Hamilton County Justice Center facing a murder charge. She awaits extradition to Fayette County where the incident occurred, according to the report of Fox 19.

The shooting occurred on Tuesday afternoon on Newtown Pike in Lexington, resulting in a male victim sustaining fatal gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to save him, the victim died at the hospital. The victim’s identity has not been disclosed yet adding urgency to the ongoing investigation.
