Investigation Reveals Flaws in Suspect’s Self-Defense Claim
According to FOX10 PHOENIX man has been arrested in connection with a deadly stabbing in West Phoenix as reported by the Phoenix Police Department. The incident happened early Saturday morning around 12:35 a.m. near the intersection of 27th Avenue and Indian School Road. When officers arrived they found a man who had been severely injured with a stab wound. Despite their efforts to save him, the man died at the scene. Authorities are working to identify the victim, who has not yet been named.
The suspect 37-year-old Robert Alan Downs was taken into custody without any issues. According to the police Downs claimed he acted in self-defense. However, the evidence at the scene did not support his story. Based on what they found investigators decided to charge Downs with murder.
