Man Arrested After Attempted Break-In Into Woman’s Home in Royal Oak
According to the published article in True Crime News, police in Royal Oak arrested 34-year-old Levi Smith after he allegedly attempted break-in to a former co-worker’s home. The attempted break-in incident happened early Saturday morning on June 1. The woman called 911 at around 1:20 a.m. when she woke up and saw a man trying to get in through her side door. Smith tried to leave when the woman set off her panic alarm but police officers stopped him.

When police arrested Levi Smith, they found him wearing latex gloves and carrying a backpack with a loaded gun, knife, handcuffs, rope, masks, a hammer, duct tape, and more gloves. Smith, a former co-worker of the victim, had shown romantic interest in her. He now faces charges of attempted first-degree home invasion and felony firearm, with possible prison terms of up to five years and two years, respectively. His bond is set at $25,000. Royal Oak Police Chief praised the woman’s quick actions, saying they prevented a worse situation.
