Cass County Drug Enforcement Team Arrests Multiple People for Meth
More Arrests After Initial Traffic Stop
According to the published article by ABC 57, on May 29, the Cass County Drug Enforcement Team (CCDET) arrested several people for having meth. A detective got a tip about a car with meth and had an officer stop the car. The driver, a 46-year-old man from Dowagiac, had illegal knives and meth. His passenger, a 39-year-old woman from Dowagiac, had a felony warrant and meth. Both were taken to Cass County Jail.
After the first arrests, a Michigan Department of Corrections agent asked officers to check on some people on parole or probation. Officers found three men in the 100 block of N. Front Street. They arrested a 30-year-old man from Dowagiac with a handgun and meth. They also found meth on two other men, ages 33 and 29, and the 29-year-old had a prescription for Suboxone.

Suspects Wait for Charges and the Court
The 30-year-old man was charged with having a hidden weapon, being a felon with a firearm, and having meth. The 33-year-old was charged with having meth, and the 29-year-old was charged with having meth and Suboxone. Thanks to the Cass County Drug Enforcement Team all suspects were taken to Cass County Jail, and charges are waiting for approval from the Cass County Prosecutor’s Office. The names of the suspects are not being released until their court appearance.
