Cola Beale IV Found Guilty of Killing Cousin Due to Perceived Liability
Crime Spree Details – Beale’s Murders of Girlfriend and Father Figure Before Cousin’s Death
According to the published article in True Crime Daily, Cola Beale IV, a 32-year-old man, was found guilty of killing his cousin, Downing Dujuan McLean, because he saw him as a “liability.” The Norfolk Commonwealth’s Attorney Office said Cola Beale IV was convicted of first-degree murder and using a gun to commit murder. On March 28, 2022, police found McLean’s body in an apartment in Norfolk. Beale, already suspected in two other killings, was arrested two days later and admitted to all three murders.
Cola Beale IV’s crime spree started on March 22, 2022, when he went to his girlfriend Czavi’er Hill’s house, argued with her, and shot her. He was seen going in and out of her house over the next few days, carrying a gun. He then set her house and car on fire, with Hill’s dog burned alive inside. Firefighters found Hill tied up and taped inside the burned house. After that, Cola Beale IV went to Clifton Baxter’s house and shot him in the head with the same gun he used on Hill. Baxter’s body was found on March 25 after a relative called the police.
