The United States Intelligence shared information regarding the Ukraine counter-offensive. It says that Ukraine will fail to achieve offensive’s key goal, which means Kyiv will not be able to fulfill its key objective of pushing Russian forces further from their bases this year.

The officials said that Ukraines are planning to reach Melitopol City from the town of Robotyne that are more than 50 miles will remain several miles outside the city.
Ukraine’s plans to reach Melitopol are critical because it is considered the gateway to Crimea. Ukraine launched the counteroffensive hoping for a successful last fall push through the Kharkiv region. According to Rob Lee reaching Melitopol is an extremely difficult task because Russia has three main defensive lines and fortified cities. Can Ukraine breach all three and have enough forces available to achieve its goals?
Some Republicans are refusing Biden’s request for an additional $20.6 billion in Ukraine aid given the offensive’s modest results. The hawkish Democrats blamed the administration for not sending more powerful weapons to Ukraine because it’s facing a difficult task.
