A former teacher in Bryant, Arkansas has been sentenced to 13 years in federal prison for engaging in sexual relations with a minor. Heather Hare, 33 was a teacher at Bryant High School, where she taught family consumer science classes. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Arkansas, Hare was sentenced for transporting a minor across state lines for the purpose of unlawful sexual activity, according to the report of True Crime Daily.
A TEACHER’S DOWNFALL
The investigation revealed that Hare had a close relationship with the minor victim, who was a senior at the time. She met him through one-on-one counseling sessions and began to communicate with him through social media platforms such as Instagram and Snapchat. Hare reportedly gave the minor her personal number and told him that she “had a dream of them having sex.” The two allegedly engaged in sexual relations around 20 to 30 times during the 2021-2022 school year.

Prosecutors say that Hare’s sexual encounters with the minor took place in various locations, including her home, car, classroom, and even the high school’s parking lots. The shocking behavior continued even during a school-sponsored field trip to Washington, D.C., where Hare chaperoned a group of students and had sex with the minor in a hotel room.
