Community Shocked as Arrests Are Made in Connection to Child’s Tragic Death
According to True Crime Daily, the Tucson community is in shock as news spreads of the arrest of Ariel Horn aged 33, and her boyfriend Charles McClellan Jr. aged 29, following the tragic death of Horn’s 11-year-old son. The investigation began back in November 2023 when authorities were called to their residence on East Limberlost Drive. What they found uncovered a disturbing tale of neglect child abuse and murder. The young boy who relied entirely on the care of his guardians tragically succumbed to sepsis a severe medical condition worsened by untreated lesions on his body. These lesions a result of alleged neglect painted a grim picture of the environment the child lived in.

Alongside three siblings he faced a challenging environment exacerbated by the alleged presence of fentanyl a potent opioid in the household. Finally, on May 1 justice took a step forward as Horn and McClellan were taken into custody and charged with both child abuse and first-degree murder. The severity of the charges is reflected in their $1 million bond each as they await trial underscoring the gravity of the allegations and the community’s profound loss.
