Alisha is upset because she needs that money to buy food for her kids. She’s working with Legal Aid to try to get her money back but it’s hard for her. She’s had to use her own money to buy food and it’s causing her a lot of stress.
The government says if you think someone stole your SNAP money you should change your PIN right away and call them to get a new card but for people like Phaleys Lopez it’s not just about the money. She couldn’t buy formula for her baby because someone stole from her SNAP card. She’s had to ask friends or family to help her buy it.
