CEO Katherine Gold’s Efforts Benefit Low-Income Moms Through Goldbug’s ‘Healthy Beginnings’ Program

In Denver, CEO Katherine Gold is leading an effort to help low-income mothers. She runs Goldbug, the biggest distributor of baby and children’s items in the US. Inspired by her father’s legacy and a desire to give back, she’s tackling the rising maternal mortality rate in the country, according to the report of KDVR.

Gold was alarmed by the 40% increase in maternal deaths from 2020 to 2021. She felt a strong moral duty to act and launched “Healthy Beginnings,” a program to give new mothers financial support. For 15 months, 20 moms in Denver, Montezuma, and Dolores counties receive up to $750 each month, no questions asked.

Gold hopes Healthy Beginnings will create a positive impact for these families and future generations. Goldbug’s collaboration with athlete Allyson Felix and sponsorship of a doula program at Denver Health show their commitment to maternal health beyond just financial aid.
