Recently, bad things happened to American tourists reminding everyone of these dangers. This makes it important for people visiting or thinking about living in Mexico to be careful and make sure their homes are safe. A survey showed that less than half of Mexicans feel safe in their neighborhoods at night. So, everyone needs to think about the risks and take steps to stay safe. Know the Mexico’s riskiest places.

In Ciudad Obregon, a city surrounded by beautiful mountains and known for its tasty food, people face a big problem which are lots of crime. With around 436,400 residents there are about 93 crimes for every 100,000 people. Things like robberies, car thefts, and drugs happen often, making life tough for locals. Tourists should be careful when using taxis or rental cars to avoid scams. It’s safer to use public buses and stay in tourist areas at night to stay safe. Also, it’s best to avoid getting involved in protests and try to blend in with the locals to avoid drawing attention.

Tijuana is a place of contrasts but is considered Mexico’s riskiest place. While it’s popular with tourists, it’s also known for a lot of crime. In 2022, there were over 2,000 murders which is very high. The problem comes from drug gangs making and selling fentanyl, a dangerous drug. Tourists usually stay safe in well-patrolled areas but it’s important to be cautious, avoid standing out, and watch out for scams.

Acapulco, once a fancy vacation spot now has a big problem with crime. It has the second-highest murder rate in Mexico, with about 111 murders for every 100,000 people. This is because of the many drug gangs fighting over poppy fields to make heroin. The United States has even told its officials not to visit because it’s so dangerous. For tourists, it’s essential to be careful and keep an eye out for trouble to stay safe in Acapulco’s risky environment.
