The program is for families with low incomes. If families get help from programs like TANF, SNAP, or Medicaid they might already be signed up. But if they’re not sure, they should talk to their school and fill out a form about their income. This form helps to see if they can get the money.
The cards will be sent by mail, so it’s important for schools to have the right address. Many kids in Colorado can benefit from this program around 337,000. It’s expected to bring a lot of money into the state up to $72 million. And it’s open to all families who qualify, regardless of their immigration status.
